Are you and your family coming to Hilton Head Island this Labor Day weekend to spend one more weekend at the beach? If the answer is yes, then we have to let you know where our favorite beaches are around town. Staying in one of our Hilton Head Island vacation homes will keep your family close to beaches or around fun. We have come up with 3 beaches to spend Labor Day weekend on the island below.
Coligny Beach
There are many other beaches around the island that you can head to, but Coligny Beach is one of the most popular beaches around. Not only will you find a pristine beach along the coastline, but you will also find a park the kids can enjoy too. The beach is open 24 hours a day but there will not be a lifeguard on duty from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am. There is a parking lot where you can park at for free right across the street and there are plenty of different restaurants and more by the beach. If you happen to forget your beach umbrella there is a place where you can rent one for the day. Don’t miss taking a dip in the ocean here at Coligny Beach.
Driessen Beach
Driessen Beach is a favorite among the locals as they love to come here if Coligny Beach is a little crowded. When staying in one of our Hilton Head Island vacation rentals, you too can live like the locals. From hitting the town just as the locals do, you could be enjoying some peace and quiet along the shore too. Located on Bradley Beach Road is where you will find this amazing beach. Be sure though to get there early as it does fill up quickly as the locals come here to relax for their weekend off too. While it is free for all who go on the beach, there is a fee of $1 per hour to park. You will also find bathrooms, outdoor showers and more for the entire family to enjoy their vacation too!
Mitchelville Beach
If you have been searching for a nice and quiet shoreline, then coming to Mitchelville Beach is the perfect ticket for your family. Located on the northeastern side of the island is where you will find this quaint beach. Not only can your family enjoy this beautiful beach but during low tide you’ll be able to find tide pools and more. Let the kids play in them and have a good time building a sandcastle or two. Just remember that there are no lifeguards on duty on this beach, so be safe out there with the kids.
There are many other things that you can do while on your vacation to Hilton Head Island, but these are just a few of the beaches your family van enjoy. If you are looking for a little more adventure and learning, then take a ferry over to Daufuski Island where your family can enjoy many fun outdoor activities. The cost of the ferry is $35 for a roundtrip and offers your family service every three hours. If you still haven’t found a place to stay at on your fun beach getaway, check out our Hilton Head Island vacation rentals. We hope that your family has a wonderful and safe Labor Day Weekend!
