Do you and your family have a family vacation planned to visit Hilton Head Island this summer? If you do, then we need to tell you all about our three favorite places to go fishing on the island. Staying in one of our Hilton Head Island vacation homes will keep your family close to the excellent fishing holes on the island. Let’s take a look below our three favorite places to fish on the island.
Jarvis Creek Park
Jarvis Creek Park is a great park where you can not only fish, but you can enjoy many other fun things. It’s a quaint park. Located off of William Hilton Parkway is one not to miss. There is a fishing dock that you and your family will be able to catch some good-sized bass and possibly a few other fish. Spend the morning fishing and then bring a picnic lunch and eat under the picnic pavilion there at the park. There is also a playground for the kids to run and get their energy out and restrooms. Enjoy the day together, fishing and making new memories!
Charles C. Haigh, Jr Fishing Pier
Did you know that Charles C. Haigh, Jr? Is fishing pier one of the best locations on Hilton Head Island to go fishing? Fishing off this pier is excellent for families of all sizes because you can fish off the dock without having to pay for access and to fish. There happens to be plenty of parking close by and located on the McKay Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway, which is where you will find some of the best fish. Be sure to pack a lot of sunscreen and towels for the day you fish, as we don’t want your vacation to be cut short by getting burned.
Fishing on the Open Waters
Another excellent option for any family who loves to fish or would like to learn is to book a fishing tour. We suggest that you try doing an Inshore, Offshore, or even a Deep-Sea Charter fishing tour. You will notice that there are different fish during different times of the year, and you will find the fishing experiences tailored more towards your choice. All tours include a USCG Licensed Captain, Ice Cooler, Bait & Tackle, which is a great thing to help cut down on the cost of everything. From a 3-hour tour to a 10-hour tour, there is an option for everyone. Splurge a little on your next vacation and experience what charter fishing is all about!
While there are many other places that you can fish from on the island, we wanted to share these three with you. If you haven’t booked your next Hilton Head Island vacation, now is the time. We hope to see you and your family very soon and make new memories together!
